the package cannot be used with Lua 5.2 that is current stable release of the language; also this is the only cURL wrapper Lua library available in Debian repository; does it make sense for you to adopt the package so that it could be used with Lua 5.2? I could successfully recompile it from sources with only few lines of code fixed.
