I just learned that the IGTF is in transition. They try to de-GRID-ify their name, and turn IGTF into a brand name rather than an acronym. Apparently this is a common theme in such organisations, but I invite David Groep (current chair of the IGTF) to comment about the rationale of this transition. It must have something to do with the fact that 'Grid' as a buzzword is past its prime. So we could stay one step ahead of things by changing the description altogether and leaving out the acronymic expansion.
