I'm seeing the same problem on a T420. It's not perfectly reproducable (happened only 5 times in 6 tries for suspend-to-disk, and 0 out of 5 in suspend-to-ram). -D (added in /lib/systemd/system/thinkfan.service) works around the problem for me.
