Dear Maintainer,

There are known bugs in vm 8.2.0b which prevents it from working correctly,
e.g. trying to open a composition window with 'm' yields a "Symbol's function
definition is void" error.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/vm/+bug/913005

According to the bugtracker this is fixed in the development versions.
Fix for Debian systems is to install vm 8.1 from stable.
