Source: monodevelop
Version: 4.0.12+dfsg-2

Dear Maintainer,

I am going to upload Metacity 3.12 to archives, which has been ported
to Gtk+ 3.0 [1]. As I understand it, it will break monodevelop, as the
latter still uses Gtk+ 2.0. Monodevelop is the *only* package in Debian
that uses Metacity’s private library.

Is it possible to build monodevelop without libmetacity support?

Maybe you can use your own window decorations (like Qt Designer does), or
don’t draw decorations at all?

In the worst case we can add new source package which will contain old
version of Metacity library (2.34). However I would very much like to
avoid that because that version is no longer developed upstream (and it
will be used by only one package).

If you want to test new Metacity, the packaging is available in Svn [2].
