can you rebuild mate-power-manager from sources and test this: 1) Downgrade consolekit from Depends: to Recommends: in debian/control 2) Build the packages (debuild -uc -us) 3) Install all bin:packages you just built 4) apt-get remove consolekit Does this solve your issue of dual-suspension?
