I'd go as far as to say there's no usable documenation for mtp-tools at all. The manpage points at -h (which doesn't work) and the website, but http://libmtp.sourceforge.net doesn't seem to contain any docs besides a link to length README in SVN which seems to cover libmtp installation, but not mtp-tools usage (or I didn't scroll long enough).
