When building 'vreng' on amd64 with gcc-4.0, I get the following error:

With the attached patch 'vreng' can be compiled on amd64 using gcc-4.0.

I am the maintainer of the original 'vreng'.
I thanks you for your patches. I have applied them to the current version of vreng-6.4.0 available at http://vreng.enst.fr/html/download.html.
This is a stable version.
I am a little disapointed that the Debian version 5.0.1.2 has been orphaned and contains a grave bug already fixed.
