Apologies for my slow response.

I have split the documentation into a separate package, so people don't
need to install it if there don't want it.

dar has a suggests for dar-docs

As far as I can tell there is no "default configuration file" despite what
the documentation says. So maybe someone needs to open an upstream bug
report on this.
