Package: qemu-kvm Version: 2.1+dfsg-2~bpo70+2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
Running wheezy, but with qemu-kvm from backports. Best I can tell, the latest update made all windows guests unusable. I could not even boot the windows installer. I tried WinXP, Win7 and Win8, all fail very early in the boot sequence. WinXP in particular complained about 0x000000A5, which according to Microsoft means "The ACPI Bios in this system is not fully compliant to the specification" My seabios version is 1.7.4-4~bpo70+1. On a hunch, I downloaded the newest upstream version (1.7.5), and started my VM with "-bios bios.bin-1.7.5". That fixed it. Please consider expediting putting the newest version in wheezy-backports. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.14-0.bpo.2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages qemu-kvm depends on: ii dpkg 1.16.15 ii qemu-system-x86 2.1+dfsg-2~bpo70+2 qemu-kvm recommends no packages. qemu-kvm suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
