Hi, Following up on this old bug report. There have been significant changes to gcc and protobuf in the last four years.
The unpatched upstream protobuf 2.6.0-rc1 compiles and passes its test suite on armel in a sid chroot on abel.debian.org with gcc 4.9, so I'm going to disable the patch that was added in the upload of protobuf 2.3.0-2.
