Package: apg
Version: 2.2.3.dfsg.1-2
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
As per the manual of apg usage of 'S' while using as an option is
supposed to make sure to generate a symbol.
<quote> S generator must use special symbol set for every
generated password.</quote>
In real life while trying to generate, the special symbol occurs once
a while and NOT everytime.
an e.g.
$ apg -m15 SNCL
UmtojWeyspekBan
rupByzniv3obWue
Duhotmuec5Orkun
BloiwreHeJemch5
vogFudCasdivBai
nanvobjuOcusdee
As can be seen out of the 6 different passwords of 15 characters it
generated, none of them had a special symbol.
I then just let the defaults land where they will with just :-
$ apg SNCL
tarrijec
stetIbVo
cyshrythan
yenocvoob4
EdFuntIv
oiFliewha
It's only after a try or true I get a symbol generated but that too is
preety rarer.
$ apg SNCL
ailjyopp
Hys=blyab
pajSorAj6
Rod9Drofnu
VejOwnyi
Euk4gred
Similarly, it's only after a few runs of apg -m15 SNCL I am able to
use one which has the special symbol.
This is a bug, please fix it as this used to happen till sometime back.
Till l8er.
