Control: retitle -1 aa-notify does not relay any message from kern.log Hi,
I cannot reproduce this on current sid with auditd running. I have made /var/log/audit/audit.log readable by the adm group, added my test user to the adm group, logged into a GNOME Classic desktop, and: 1. I see "/usr/bin/perl /usr/bin/aa-notify -p -s 1 -w 60" was automatically started. 2. I see it has opened /var/log/audit/audit.log 3. I see desktop notifications. Then, I have stopped the auditd service, so that aa-notify falls back on /var/log/kern.log. Logged out, killed aa-notify, logged back in. I see aa-notify has opened kern.log, and I trigger AppArmor DENIED lines in there... but no desktop notification. So, in the default Debian configuration (kern.log), aa-notify is broken. And, in the non-default one (auditd), things require manual tweaking before they work: see #759604.
