Hey Daniel, Michael, Michael Biebl [2014-09-06 13:29 +0200]: > Martin did drop the python-systemd packages since there weren't any > reverse dependencies. I don't see fail2ban depend/recommend/suggest > python-systemd? Could you elaborate?
I deliberately dropped the py2 ones to avoid encouraging people to grow new dependencies on it. The Python maintainers want to phase out Python 2 and encourage porting to Python 3. I see fail2ban grew a python-systemd Suggests: in experimental. However, http://www.fail2ban.org/wiki/index.php/Features says that fail2ban supports Python 3 in 0.9.x. In the spirit of the Py 3 transition, would it be possible for fail2ban to use py3? > We already do a second build for the udeb package. That's also an important issue, but my main concern is proliferating new python2 libraries/dependencies.
