This seems to be caused by the rename of the logrotate config file
stemming from commit 4d4f988a (Move logrotate.d snippet to its own file;
dropped upstream). I think it could be fixed in 1.4.4-2~ by adding
dpkg-maintscript-helper mv_conffile \
/etc/logrotate.d/bmc-watchdog /etc/logrotate.d/freeipmi-bmc-watchdog \
1.4.4-2~ freeipmi-bmc-watchdog -- "$@"
to debian/freeipmi-bmc-watchdog.{preinst,postinst,postrm}. Funny thing:
its inverse is already present since commit d6622127 (freeipmi- prefix
stripped upstream from bmc-watchdog daemon/scripts). Maybe we should
just use dh_installlogrotate --name, as the already overridden
dh_installinit invocations do... Opinions?
