Currently, file permissions are shown by Debsources only when visiting individual files, adding something like "permissions: rw-rw-r--" to the title bar of the file content window. It would be nice to change the directory listing from the current "ls"-like style, to a more "ls -l"-like style, which associates extra details to each entry (no matter if it is a file or a directory), and in particular associate permissions to each entry when showing a directory content. Other information that can be shown are the file type, and in particular whether a file is a symlink or not. Doing the above would also have the nice side effect of fixing the current inability to show the permissions of directories. At the implementation level, it would be nice to implement this as a template option, so that it is easy to switch on/off this "detailed listing" feature.
