Package: nvidia-kernel-source Version: 1.0.7174-3 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
I compiled nvidia kernel module build from source using Linux kernel source downloaded from 'kernel.org', and build it using gcc-3.4 with make-kpkg. However, after installation of the necessary packages, loading the nividia kernel module with 'modprobe -v nvidia' fails. In /var/log/syslog, it reports: ------------------------------------------------- nvidia: Unknown symbol register_ioctl32_conversion nvidia: Unknown symbol unregister_ioctl32_conversion -------------------------------------------------- -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.14.3 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages nvidia-kernel-source depends on: ii debhelper 4.2.32 helper programs for debian/rules ii dpatch 2.0.10 patch maintenance system for Debia ii make 3.80-9 The GNU version of the "make" util ii sed 4.1.2-8 The GNU sed stream editor -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
