Yes this happens with a specific theme but it's the _build_in_ GTK+
dark theme so no other fancy theme stuff installed besides
gnome-themes-standard:

$ dpkg -l | grep -i theme | grep -v icon
ii  gnome-accessibility-themes            3.12.0-1                          all
         Accessibility themes for the GNOME desktop
ii  gnome-themes-standard:amd64           3.14.0-1
amd64        Standard GNOME themes
ii  gnome-themes-standard-data            3.14.0-1                          all
         Data files for GNOME standard themes
ii  sound-theme-freedesktop               0.8-1                             all
         freedesktop.org sound theme
rc  syslinux-themes-debian                12-3                              all
         collection of boot loaders (theme metapackage)

There were lots of theming changes for 3.14 so I might well be a bug
in the theme itself but I can't tell from here. Other apps behave as
expected though.
