Package: cinnamon-core Version: 2.2.3 Severity: wishlist Hi,
cinnamon-core depends on ligthdm | gdm3, but it can be used without any of the two. I use it without a DM at all (using the nodm package, but one could also simply use startx), and there are more DMs in Debian than those two. I had to use equivs to get rid of lightdm. In my opinion, this dependency should read: Recommends: lightdm | x-display-manager This would still (by default) ensure that a DM is installed, picking lightdm if possible, without pushing a new DM on a machine already set-up to use kdm. This also allows users to bypass this recommendation altogether.
