Hi, >>> >>> with the freeze approaching, is there anything I can do to get check-mk >>> back into Jessie (at least the agent part, see #707841)? >> Thomas are you still alive? Do you plan to upgrade check-mk soon? > > I'm still alive but have currently absolute no time to work on check-mk :(
Sorry I missed that reply :-( I could wrap up a package for the current check-mk-agent fixing a few minor bugs and updating to the latest version until tomorrow. I don't feel confident at all packaging the server part, because upstream support for that is rather bad and I honestly don't know anyone who is not using check_mk inside OMD. So I see three options: a) check_mk and check_mk_agent are not released in Jessie b) check_mk_agent is split into a seperate source package and migrates to Jessie in time, the server parts are not released in Jessie c) someone else updates both server and agent in time for Jessie I can help with b), but I need a bit of help. First of all I'm not a DD, just a DM. So I need a sponsor for uploading. Also I have no idea how to take over a binary package in a new source package. I could not find a lot of documentation about that. I guess one needs to rebuild the old source package first, dropping the binary packages for the agent?
