There seem to be 2 separate issues with this M-A transition. As for the documentation related to the usage of cowbuilder via .pbuilderrc, it is not in the cowbuilder package itself. I have updated previously mentioned web pages. So remaining one is my debmake package. Reassigning this bug to there.
