I think this is a duplicate of #752867, so I'll merge them. Also, note that I'm using propellor with docker, and propellor does some grubbing around in the docker.io output (I guess docker has an API it should be using instead.) It seems not unlikely that results in something like Vincent's example of docker images | head -2 [1] sending a SIGPIPE to docker when some of its output is not consumed by the pipe.
