Hi,

I am having what I believe is the same issue as reported in this bugreport.

libjpeg segfaults, which leads to motion stopping.
At the same time a completely grey (but date & time-stamped) frame is
generated, this frame has no jpeg encoding errors.

Note that some of the packages listed below are from the wheezy-backports
archive.

-- System Information:
Debian Release: wheezy
Architecture: amd64 (x86_64)
Foreign Architectures: i386

Kernel: linux-image-3.16-0.bpo.2-amd64
Alternative tested kernel: 3.17.1 vanilla (make oldconfig)

LANG=en_GB.UTF-8

-- Hardware Information:
Intel Core i3
8GB RAM
Gigabyte H77-D3H motherboard (H77 express chipset)
Note: I ran memtest86 last night to check the RAM, no errors were indicated.

-- Input device at /dev/video0
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 045e:076d Microsoft Corp. LifeCam HD-5000
Note: I have tried connecting the camera using both USB2 and USB3 ports.
