Package: openjdk-8-jre-jamvm Version: 8u40~b09-1 Severity: important Any attempt to use JamVM, even just checking the version, results in failure with the following error message:
$ java -jamvm -version Error initialising VM (initialiseClassStage2) ClassBlock padding is less than java.lang.Class fields! Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit. The previous version 8u40~b04-2 worked without problems. The problem occurs equally with the Sid package (chroot environment) and a locally built backport from the Sid sources to Wheezy, all on amd64. Using the default VM from openjdk-8-jre-headless, Java works as expected. Please let me know if I can help with debugging this further. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/32 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages openjdk-8-jre-jamvm depends on: ii libc6 2.19-11 ii openjdk-8-jre-headless 8u40~b09-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2 openjdk-8-jre-jamvm recommends no packages. openjdk-8-jre-jamvm suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
