Based on the fstrim.timer and fstrim.service now shipped by util-linux, all that's needed is a cron.weekly script that runs fstrim -a.
(I suppose that there would be no real reason to include the timer if there was a cron.weekly script; fstrim shouldn't be run by two different things..) -- see shy jo
