Hi,
I just tried Scribus 1.4.4+dfsg1-2 from sid, and the bug appears to be
resolved (partially, for me).
The language slot in the hyphenation preferences appeared empty in the
previous build, but now it shows english (USA) as the only available
language.

I checked the dependencies of scribus, and I noticed that it asks for
libhyphen (which is installed) and hyphen-hyphenation-patterns.
The only hyphen pattern installed is english (USA), so I installed
another pattern, and it showed up.
Unfortunately, that doesn't fix the problem for me because apparently
there is no hyphen-es pattern available in debian.

In earlier builds of Scribus I could select spanish from that dropdown.
It looks like it's impossible now unless there is a hyphen pattern
available for my language.

This is a regression that renders scribus almost unusable for
spanish-speaking users.
