Package: firefox Version: 1.4.99+1.5rc3.dfsg-2 Severity: important Neither the Blackdown Java plugin (from version 1.4.2-01) or the Sun Java plugin (from version 1.5.0_05) seem to work correctly with this incarnation of Firefox. I have manually placed the symbolic links in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins.
The behavior is that the plugin is listed in about:plugins, and seems to load (there's a pause when visiting a page with a Java applet, with lots of disk activity), but never displays any output or opens any new windows.
