I *want* to specify the hostname,
but I can't[*] until ifupdown passes --fqdn instead of -H.

Is it contentious to update inet.defn?
If so, I don't understand why.
Its current use of -H and -c are invalid for any udhcpc in Jessie.

[*] unless I use "inet manual" instead of "inet dhcp", of course.
