This is a duplicate of #767350, thus I'm merging the bugs.
While a single message for the download may be syslog material, I don't think that real-time progress indication is something that should be logged. That kind of information is only useful when running the program interactively. Please disable progress logging by default (for non-interactive use).
The fix I just pushed to git ensures that real-time progress indication only goes to ttys and only the last message to the journal/syslog.
