As per https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gpodder/+bug/1266164 gpodder complains on the command line about a missing module if you try to use the Ubuntu Appindicator package [gpodder.extensions] ERROR: Cannot load ubuntu_appindicator from /usr/share/gpodder/extensions/ubuntu_appindicator.py: No module named appindicator Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/gpodder/extensions.py", line 250, in set_enabled self.load_extension() File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/gpodder/extensions.py", line 294, in load_extension (extension, 'r', imp.PY_SOURCE)) File "/usr/share/gpodder/extensions/ubuntu_appindicator.py", line 19, in <module> import appindicator ImportError: No module named appindicator This extension provides application indicator. I think this works in enviroments that are in Debian like. If it does, a dependency on python-appindicator which is in Debian, should be added.
