Bug#769393: mysql-workbench: Saving password in keychain does not work

Dear "dirdi",

In the related upstream bug report I found that it may be helpful to start 
mysql-workbench as follows:

    GNOME_KEYRING_CONTROL=1 mysql-workbench

I tried it and found that it fixed the issue for me.
