As I told you, I browsed with aptitude.  No, I saw no error messages.

Ahh, perhaps you are simply unaware of the curses interface of aptitude:

 1) Execute "aptitude" with no other arguments to reach fullscreen mode
 2) type "/packagekit-gt" and hit ENTER to locate the package
 3) hit ENTER to see package details
 4) move down to "Packages depending on..." and hit ENTER to see reverse 
    dependencies

IMO it should depend on whatever provides the dbus interface (as I guess 
it is completely useless for anyone without the dbus interface), but 
only enhance user interfaces of packagekit (not depend/recommend/suggest 
as the relationship is directional: Seem this is similar to a plugin, 
which means it is the other tools that benefit from the addition of this 
one).
