Having a constant precision and no float-typical rounding errors
seemed to be a good idea when this option was used the first time
(ages ago). It's a bit like the big/little endian discussion - neither
is apparently wrong, it's just two different ways of doing things.

I will not change this for the 8.1 packages since it would suddenly
break the databases of Debian's 8.1 users. We should discuss this
again when 8.2 emerges and gets its first packages. Then people have
to upgrade anyway, and we can easily change the storage format at that
time.
