Yes, this works, but it was not necessary on Wheezy (or any other system on which Recoll runs, including non-Linux ones). If some reason lead to changing the location of certain aspell data files, it would seem reasonable that a corresponding change of the compiled-in defaults would let the command run without special arguments as it did in the past.
