Here is the output of xsane when it fails (with saned and inetd on the server)

I also try with scanimage :

scanner

The first time, I tried with scanimage without arguments, the scanner started 
to respond and began scanning, my terminal went black and the PC started to 
beep regularly.
I stopped scanimage, with ctrl-C .

Since then it just segfaults.
