Which version of NEC are you using? The debian antennavis package needs the debian nec package. So you may get problems if you use the debian antennavis wit some other version of nec.

Anyway, I could make it work, and that's all I needed to do the qt version.

No, please keep sending me comments. I am also the upstream maintainer of antennavis, since  Kenneth has abandoned the program a long time ago. I would certainly be interested in adding improvements. As you may have noticed, antennavis does not work with all examples and I really don't know why....

If your write the QT program, can you please put it under a free license? I would be interested in adding it to the debian archive...
BTW, there also is xnecview which might contain some nice code examples for you...
