Please find attached a patch to switch to po4a to handle manpages
translations. Po4a is a tool that allows you to translate manpages using
the po format and to keep the translations always up to date by
regenerating the manpages using English strings if the translated strings
are no longer up to date.
The patch does the following things:
* add po4a >= 0.23 to Build-Depends
* modify a few things in debian/rules and debian/fakeroot.postinst.in to
have full support for translated manpages
* remove the doc/{es,fr,sv}/{fakeroot,faked}.1 manpages
* add the doc/po4a/ directory with the complete infrastructure for the
translations, as well as the existing translation converted into the
po format.
* modify the different Makefile.am in the doc directory to handle po4a.
The French translation has been updated by Sylvain Cherrier and
proofread by the debian-l10n-french contributors.
I am not sure that the new Makefile.am are perfect. If it is not
convenient enough, feel free to give me some hints and I will work on a
better way to handle po4a.
