Dear Carsten,

I have solved the problem for me, at least. Why it is occurring I don't know.

Happen this issue only with one specific IMAP Account or mostly with the
same servers?

I have now found out, that it mainly happens with one specific
folder on one server. I also had contact with the administrators,
but they couldn't help yet. It's a problem with the "Gesendet"
(sent) folder. It can't even be reloaded from the server, so if I
write messages from the webinterface, I can't see them locally. In
the webinterface everything works fine though.

if the issue is happen with one single account please create a new
profile which holds only this one account. You get two things by this,
test out if it is a problem with the other profile and debugging is
becomming much easier.

If you have a hugh amount of mails in the Sent folder please try out to
reduce them. In the past there those several people that reported issues
with Icedove and really big folders.

This is exactly what I did. I created a folder "old_sent" and moved most the old sent mails to this new folder, so that now there are only about 200 mails left in the "sent" folder. This I have done in the web interface, because from Icedove this was not possible, as the folder could not be synchronized.

After restarting icedove everything worked fine again, all the folder could be synchronized, no mails are lost anymore.

PS: I have looked into the private sent mail with the log, but I can't
see a hook which is telling why icedove binary is segfaulting.

Regrads
Carsten

Thank you for your great support,

Alia
