No, not at all. This might be well a bug in the glibc as well. We had to
fix plenty of bugs in the GNU toolchain on sh4 already, so I wouldn't be
surprised if there was a glibc bug as well.

I need to investigate into the issue first and the best would probably
CCing the issue to the glibc developers. Maybe someone just forgot to
make these variables private?
