Package: mc Version: 3:4.8.13-3 Severity: important I just tried to run 'mcedit somefile' (where “somefile” exists) on a sid system. Instead, mc opened. I re-tried on a user with clean $HOME directory (I used the postgres user ☺), and the same, so my mc config (which enables using the external editor) is not at fault.
mcedit is a nice editor for Unix beginners who know the DOS world already, so it ought to be callable. Plus, it registers as an editor alternative, so it ought to work… -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers unreleased APT policy: (500, 'unreleased'), (500, 'buildd-unstable'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: x32 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/lksh Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages mc depends on: ii e2fslibs 1.42.12-1 ii libc6 2.19-14 ii libglib2.0-0 2.42.1-1 ii libgpm2 1.20.4-6.1+b2 ii libslang2 2.3.0-2 ii libssh2-1 1.4.3-4 ii mc-data 3:4.8.13-3 Versions of packages mc recommends: ii mime-support 3.58 ii perl 5.20.1-5 ii unzip 6.0-16 Versions of packages mc suggests: ii arj 3.10.22-12 ii bzip2 1.0.6-7+b2 pn dbview <none> pn djvulibre-bin <none> ii file 1:5.22+15-1 pn genisoimage <none> pn gv <none> ii imagemagick 8:6.8.9.9-5 pn links | w3m | lynx <none> ii mupdf [pdf-viewer] 1.6-1 pn odt2txt <none> ii okular [pdf-viewer] 4:4.14.2-2 ii poppler-utils 0.26.5-2 ii python 2.7.8-3 pn python-boto <none> ii python-tz 2012c+dfsg-0.1 ii texlive-binaries 2014.20140926.35254-6 ii zip 3.0-8 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
