This is still not ideal, since I want an automatic replot. > Another workaround is to turn off ResizeOpaque for gnuplot. Something like > > Style Gnuplot ResizeOutline > > in your Fvwm config file. Style "Gnuplot*" ResizeOutline But this triggers another bug: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=720726 > I don't think there's anything Fvwm can do about this problem, since > it is gnuplot that is responsible for redrawing itself. Well, before releasing the mouse button, I can see that the redraws are done *in real time*. So, I don't think that the redraws are a problem. And the fact that there are redraws doesn't explain why the window size changes a lot after I release the mouse button. Moreover GNOME and IceWM (on the same machine) don't have any problem with Gnuplot resize. > The Fvwm manpage on ResizeOpaque also had this to say: > > "Since this causes the application to redraw frequently it can be > quite slow and make the window flicker excessively, depending on the > amount of graphics the application redraws. ... XEmacs and Netscape no longer exist, and both GNU Emacs and Firefox are fine with ResizeOpaque. -- Vincent Lefèvre <vinc...@vinc17.net> - Web: <https://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <https://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / AriC project (LIP, ENS-Lyon) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
