Package: coreutils Version: 8.23-3 Severity: normal Hi!
I tried using split to divide a text file in chunks using the "-d" option to have numeric suffixes. The results I got had the number of the suffixes going from 00 to 89 then jumping to 9000 and going on 9001, 9002, ....from there. I tried with different prefixes. I don't think the input file has any relevance, but just in case i was trying to split the file of the translation in Italian of the Debian packages' description that I downloaded from here http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/dists/sid/main/i18n/Translation-it.bz2 Thanks, Beatrice -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages coreutils depends on: ii libacl1 2.2.52-2 ii libattr1 1:2.4.47-2 ii libc6 2.19-13 ii libselinux1 2.3-2 coreutils recommends no packages. coreutils suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
