Given that check-mk is one of the worst source packages I have ever seen, I
am not sure that check-mk is a good package to start with.

Unfortunately the upstream developer don't really have an idea about
distributing software (tarballs in tarballs? custom setup script? wtf?).

That made the initial packages one of the most challenging tasks I ever did
in packages (and trust me, I have a lot of packages).

And to be honest, I am not sure that every component of check-mk is included
properly in their package (they include a lot of different software in their
tarballs).

However, if you really want to start with it, create an account on alioth. I
will give you commit permissions afterwards. Then create a new (!, please
don't commit into master) branch, commit your changes and ask me for review.
If I am happy I will merge it for master and release the package afterwards.
If this works well, we will start with the Debian Maintainer process (you
will need an advocate for that process. And if I am happy with your will I
will advocate you).

Hope that helps

Alex
