Package: debhelper Version: 9.20150101 Severity: wishlist The manpage of debhelper(7) goes:
DH_VERBOSE Set to 1 to enable verbose mode. Debhelper will output every command it runs. Also enables verbose build logs for some build systems like autoconf. Unless you export DH_VERBOSE, DH_VERBOSE=1 only outputs every command such as dh_auto_configure which is run DIRECTLY by the dh command. So actual commands run by dh_auto_configure etc. are not printed out if the new style of debian/rules with "dh $@" is used. Can you document this export requirement in manpage or update the dh command to export DH_VERBOSE setting to its sub-commands.
