FWIW I tested this out on current blead and found out that at least Memoize and Test-Simple have problems. These are both dual-life on CPAN, and I'd have expected the pod2man change would have caught them in smoke tests, but I now see that ExtUtils::MakeMaker has its own pod2man implementation (ExtUtils::Command::MM::pod2man) which doesn't set 'errors => die' or 'errors => stderr' either. I wonder if that's a blocker for the core change.
