Package: apt Version: 0.9.7.9+deb7u7 Severity: minor Of the contents of /var/lib/apt on this system, *only* extended_states is legitimate to have in /var/lib. Everything else should be in /var/cache. The primary files are the lists files, which if I run `rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists` can be easily recreated by running `apt-get update`.
This is an issue for backups since things in /var/lib are things that should be backed up, while /var/cache doesn't need to be backed up. -- (\___(\___(\______ --=> 8-) EHM <=-- ______/)___/)___/) \BS ( | [email protected] PGP 87145445 | ) / \_CS\ | _____ -O #include <stddisclaimer.h> O- _____ | / _/ 8A19\___\_|_/58D2 7E3D DDF4 7BA6 <-PGP-> 41D1 B375 37D0 8714\_|_/___/5445 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
