I have not made much progress yet because spare time is a _very_ scarce resource for me :/ If you are interested in investigating this bug, the first step is to aptitude install gnat-gps-dbg and the sources and run gps under gdb, then extract the stack trace of where the exceptions are being raised. Try to establish whether or not there is a link between the assertion failures and the later access check failures.
