 Could it be that this behavior happen on certain URLs you are visiting

 Alright, I'm not forwarding the bug upstream since it can't be
 reproduced, and I never experienced it.

 Perhaps you are using some X input method (XIM)?  Or a Gtk input
 module (GTKIM)?
