I can see that gvfs 1.24 just entered testing but in jessie it's still 1.22. So that patch seems to be relevant in regard to jessie which probably will be the stable release for around 2 years. Unless a package with similar functionality goes into jessie-backports my response seems to still apply. I just wanted to let people with affected systems know there is a quick workaround. I left modified source and recompiled gvfsd-obexftp on my server.
