It is the only version of libnettle6, but there is a libnettle4. If I remove either of these, KDE, among other things, will also uninstall (or break). I'm not sure if I have understood the reason this bug was closed off; is there a solution or not? Is the nominated version (3.1.1-3) of libnettle6 the one that should or should not be used? There does not appear to be an upgrade for it.

So what can I do to run gimp? Is this just a "tough luck it's not
going to work"? I already have version the specified version of
libnettle6.
Is that the *only* version of libnettle* which is installed? Try
uninstalling the old version, or at least check which packages you
still have around which depend on it.
